I'm new to this sport, actually so new I have yet to get out on one (but planning on it soon). I came across this chair for sale online and it had some damage. Looks to be a cheap price but was wondering if this would be reason for concern.

Hello to all. I am brand new to this forum, but fell in love with hydrofoiling about 3 years ago. I borrowed a friend's Sky Ski and learned behind a 24 ft. pontoon boat...those were the days! I now own a 2001 Mastercraft X-9 and have purchased my own used Sky Ski Pro SS with Cinchmax footstays and belt. So, this will start my 4th season and I am hoping to pick up some new tips and tricks from all you well-seasoned vets of the sport out there. I seem to have reached a plateau. I can jump the ski high enough for most intro tricks, but I really don't want to injure myself trying to figure things out on my own.

My family and I can usually be found on beautiful Greer's Ferry Lake in north central Arkansas at least one week each of the summer months. It is 3.5 hrs. from my house, but well worth the drive. All are itching to get out on the water this Memorial Day. My 17 yr. old son and 15 yr. old daughter also enjoy the Ski Ski, but not nearly as much as I do. My lovely wife and 11 yr. old son have yet to work up the nerve to learn. I also ski one week a year with an old group of co-workers who introduced me to the sport. They are all pretty decent foilers (no inverts), so I pick up what I can from them.

I am 47 years old, 6 ft. 6 in. tall, and weigh 260 lbs. I love the fact that even a big guy like me can enjoy this sport. Thanks in advance for your hospitality and for allowing me to join this community!

Would not surprise me, it seemed that Dan Meyers was the glue that held it together, so when he left I am "guessing" that it was the beginning of the end?

Racks on a Malibu G3 tower

So Scoville bought a new boat this winter..... a 2011 23' Vride with the Malibu G3 tower on it. We love all the room, especially with the high bimini. We've been trying to figure out how to setup racks on it. He has a pair of Comptech racks, which mount up fine. But he has several buddies who still wakeboard & would like to get at least 1, if not 2 racks on the tower. The tower has 2 places on each side where you can mount racks. The foil racks go in the lower spot. If you mount the board racks in the upper spot, then you can either get boards or a foil in their racks. But if the boards are there, they block the foil from being in it's rack.

We've thought a few ways that might work:

- modifying the board racks so they angle upward more straight. Involves some custom fabrication.

- maybe mounting the boards on the bimini (ala the old AirBoom bimini rack from a few years back). Pretty sure the bimini would support 2 boards up there.

- use a 3" diameter clamp to mount the board racks on the big bar portion of the tower? Ever see a clamp this big yet?

Any other G3 owners figured this one out yet?

This is a little video I put together a while back and never posted. Its my first season and half of riding leading up to this season. I have to be able to come back with new video of progress and get some tips from everyone. I am setting out to unlearn my bad habits this year such as raising the handle, trying to huck gainers, ect.

Probably a long shot but worth a try... I'm going to be up in MN the week of the 4th of July, staying in a cabin on Big Sandy Lake. Anybody up there that rides? I'm probably not going to bring my ski since I flying. If anybody is riding anywhere near there and is willing to give a pull I would certainly appreciate it. Of coarse I'm willing to help out with gas, beer, food whatever. In exchange you will forever have a friend in the FL panhandle...

Just a quick review on my new Fuse 40 T-Bar from Marty and N2Orbit. I got my new T-Bar today and put it together and was on the water right away.At first I was thinking this thing is freakin huge.I am switching from a LE t-Bar to this beast.Anyway I set the wing wheel base and shimming at the same as my original setup.Loaded everything up expecting to have to make adjustments. Got in the water and was amazed at how good it road right out of the box.Started at 23 mph and was back up to 25mph right away.Did a bunch of cutting hard through the wake from side to side with no glitching.All wake jumps and inverts felt great.Anyway just wanted to say thanks to Marty and the guys that do the machining and polishing on it.Graet job.Couldn't be happier.

ultra limited sucky t shirt design #2

I'm still working on a tattoo style design, but it has been frustrating finding the right artist for that. So I went ahead and printed the design I use for my avatar. I don't think this is a very commercial design and though a few people have expressed interest I'm expecting this shirt to qualify for Ultra Limited Sucky Design status. However, it does look cool and non foilers have no idea what the hell it is about. Why that makes me happy I don't know. If anyone wants one PM me. I'll pick up a few more shirts tomorrow along with my other order. I'll fill any requests I get before I strip the screens down for different run. I'm going for gildan softstyle 30 shirts that are light weight for summer. 4.5 oz compared to beefy t's at 6.1 oz. The print itself is thin. Not much hand and you can see through the weave when held up to a light. Light weight summer non sweat print. Might fibrillate a little long term, but won't actually fade. If you want bullet proof thick ink deposits this isn't for you. Any color shirt you want as long as it is white. $8 + $5 priority mail.

Samurai were into sharp edged weapons and very territorial. Sound familiar?

For the last 16 years I've had a ProStar 205 and have nothing but great things to say about it. Anyone have any experience with a 2006 X30? Will it surf when when I want a break from the foil? How's the wake at slalom speeds? Any reliability issues I should be aware of?

Just a little excited about it so I had to post got out this weekend finally. First time on the xxx/UFO I ran no shim and the wing at 4 seemed pretty sweet can't wait to get some more time on it. I need to get some more video up I need help on air jumps I just can't get the motion correct I seem to always end up with a back splat.

Quest To Learn 3's Begin!

I have made it a goal to learn 3's this season. Even though Vesely told me last summer it was hopeless!:slaphead:

I shortened the line from 95 to 80 and slowed from 26 to 24.

For some reason I ignored Brian's teaching to slow the boat down to 18 and paid the price with pain.

I also forgot "look down fall down"!

My favorite photos are definetly from the Sick Trick Contest. We were out on a houseboat and the riders threw one big trick for each pass right up next to the boat.

I also learned that if you give a high speed camera to Tyler Narans at a bar you end up with 700+ photos to go though!!! He did get some good ones though. Make sure to check out the behind the scenes pics.
