Just a quick note, if I remember right... I don't believe Cheryl has ever landed a 360 in competition. Lexi "Trixie" Elton was the first female to land a 360 in competiton...at Flight Worlds in Parker.

Holy smokers, she was like 18 at the time too.

Watch out for Leah Stilwell, we took her out on the Creek after the 1st round on Saturday and she landed three different types of combos on her first run trying them. Pure talent. I've got money that she'll be the first chick to land a mobe.

Thanks to Brad Schmidt and Eric Vyborny and the rest of the Southeast Hydrofoil Club for hosting another great weekend/tournament. Everything went very smoothly and it was all well organized. Thanks also to Jim Chismar for handling all the scoring and to Bryan Schumacher for creating that scoring program which makes it so much easier to get results, and get them quickly. Also, thanks to Cliff Woodman for driving all weekend and to all nine judges who helped out.

Highlights -- Alison Goin rode terrific all weekend, standing up her run on Saturday. On Sunday, she had hit all her tricks, so tried to do a 360 to wrap, even though she does not have a braid handle or grab handle, and she had never even tried one before. As mentioned previously, she is the first woman to land two 360's in tournament competition.

When Bj landed her 360, it also marked the first time two different women hit a 360 in the same tournament.

Leah Stillwell (from Charlotte, NC) rode terrific in the Intermediate division -- looks like she'll be moving up to Advanced. She followed up the tournament with an impressive demo ride on the stand-up hydrofoil.

In the informal big air contest on Saturday, Jason Launder, from the Advanced division, took first place with a 51 frame air back roll.

Ray Brantley had consistent riding in Open, hitting his wake front flip, switch wake front flip, and air front flips, and just missed the handle on his switch air front.

Benton Travis hit a smooth BNC on Saturday. Keith Owen hit 360s on both sides on Saturday -- the second being quite impressive because he had fallen, and had to cut out quickly and finish it before the end ball.

Shannon Pope took the lead on Saturday in Outlaw, hitting wake fronts both directions, an air front, and a no-doubt DoubleD. And that was after popping the handle on a wake front flip to air back roll and just missing a dragon. On Sunday, he hit the same front flips, stuck his dragon, and finished with a DoubleD again.

Al Lewin put on an impressive show all weekend, with huge air and great style. He made air and wake KGB's look easy, and even hitting a wake back roll to air kgb combo. On Sunday, he went for the wake kgb to air kgb combo and came close!

Thanks to all the participants for coming out, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the spring!

Al was the only Pro rider who would have competed, so rather than compete in a division by himself, he chose to do demo runs. It actually worked out okay for Al, in that he got to ride more than he otherwise would have. It certainly worked out great for the fans!
