I recently got a new computer with Vista on it. Now I can not view any of the videos or pictures. I know it's just a setting, but where and what??????

make sure you have pop ups allowed, and check your security setting. Usually, medium works. Also, make sure you are logged in to the site. Obviously, you are now since you were able to start a thead, but maybe you weren't when you tried to view videos earlier?...
Remember...It's not HOW you DO, It's HOW you LOOK when you're doing it!!!

If you are having issues viewing YouTube video, try downloading the shockwave flash from adobe. Here is a link to the youtube web site on trouble-shooting:

If you're having issues with the .wmv video files, make sure you have windows media player installed. Here's a link for the trouble-shooting process:

Dump Vista and put XP on it!
    Or you can....

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ VLC player is better then WMP.

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...codec_pack.htm

    Good codec package for WMP.

Definitely install the K-Lite Codec Pack. It'll let you play pretty much any type of video. I don't know if it'll help with you viewing pictures & videos on this site (it might help with the video), but it's good to have it installed for any other videos you might try to play in the future.

When I got Vista on my new computer, I had to go through and get rid of all the **** that came with the program!!! Once you delete all that stuff, Vista runs pretty good.

I have 5 Vista computers - all can see things here fine .. but I may have had to update the Codec's, so I can say for sure Vista WILL work.

I know people hate it ...

Did you know the next new major version of windows is about out in Beta?

I can't tell you how many PCs I have scrubbed Vista off and put XP on. You know it's bad when MS runs XP at their office and not Vista. Window 7 beta was "leaked" has been out for a while now. If you are running older machines like I have there is no need to update. It is sad when your OS needs 4 GB of ram to run smooth! Sorry....

Its probably the same reason why all new computers with Vista have the downgrade option built in, to run XP instead. Does that tell you something???

It depends. Toshiba has laptops out that they did not make XP drivers for. I always check the models to make sure driver's are available before formatting HDs and putting XP on.
