The results of the 2010 USHA Video Competition are finally in and posted below with details attached.

Congratulations to all the riders for their participation and hard work. Most riders have invested much more than the two minutes twenty seconds that you will see in the videos below. Nice work and congrats! Similar to last year, we also had great participation from teh European foilers.

I also want to take a moment to thank all of the judges who spent their time reviewing and judging the videos. As you can see it was certainly a community job. Thanks everyone!
Pro Judges: Heinrich H, MJ P, Shannon P., Benton T
    Open / Outlaw Judges: Shannon P., Alison & Todd G, Cayce C, Geno Y & Al L.
Advanced Judges: Heinrich H, Shannon P, Benton T, Dave P
    Novice Judges: Alison G, MJ P & Shannon P

There were a couple of new changes this year –
    1) Increase from 120 seconds to 140 seconds for the video runs
    2) Payout of $70 for 1st place and $30 for 2nd place for Pro, Outlaw, Open & Adv.
Not a big payout, but at least it puts a few gallons of fuel back in the tank!
Please check this thread for the complete rules:

Jim, thanks for all the hard work you did and to the judges for your hard work also. Congradulations to all the winners. I definitely enjoyed being a participant and look forward to doing it again next year. I suggest to everyone to get into this competition next year, you have nothing to lose, but gaining a big positve of improving your foiling skills.

Thank you Jim for the crap load of stuff that you do!!!

Thanks to Dave Peterson for beating me again. Thanks to Benton for going into a different division :)

So question - why not do a spring and fall video comp? Would people do both?

It's cool to 1) generate videos for the sports and 2) get people motivated to learn new tricks

maybe the Spring video comp is for Big Air/3-Trick and Fall video comp is Free Ride???

Congrats and thanks to all who competed! Extra thanks to those who organized this and judged! Good to see most of the A-team on the list, Next year we are pushing for 100% participation.

I like the idea of spring / fall contest of different formats. More to keep us motivated!

It's awesome to see Al take top dog in the video comp. He pushes himself each and every weekend to get better which is also pushing the sport to new heights.

    Congratulations BGA!

.60 away from #1 in Outlaw...was it the music?

Congrats to all who entered and pushed themselves... I find hydrofoiling is about winning the 'inner' race, the race with yourself. I think everyone who participated took something away from the experience.

I study film, lots of film and was wondering if there would be spreadsheet posted with all the air frame counts? I like to be able to see what little things other riders are doing on take off.

MJ, Spring comps are hard for people like us that don't get to ride year round ... those dang people that live where it is warm would be in better
shape for a spring video comp ... (just sayin)
