My daughter is 16 in this picture. Months that is. We didn't put her on the seat. She just crawls up there anytime I get out, pulls on the keys, turns the wheel and tries to move the throttle. Can't wait to skip the phone calls looking for thirds!

Laws in ga dictate must be 16 and pass online course to operate more than 16' vessel. My son turned 16 last June, now gotta get him driving.

I think it all comes down to the child's abilities to be safe with driving something that can possibly be deadly to everyone around them. I started training my sons driving with me in the boat at about 8 years old. By the time, of proven numerous driving times with me in the passenger seat and them pulling someone else behind the boat, I stated allowing them to pull me about 13 years old. In Louisiana here, you only need to have a tournament style ski mirror to pull someone behind the boat without a observer.
You still have to bribe them to pull you, just a ski run for them, is not enough. :)))

Depends on the kid ... my little cousin who is ten years old is
Well able to operate vehicle he backs the truck and trailer up better then most adults ... when it comes to towing someone he can if we are surfing or tubing but anything where a controlled speed is required my boat is very hard to keep one speed so he is not quite able to do that yet

In MO. you must be 16 & pass a boaters safety test, which you can do on-line & pay a fee. Unless you were born before 1985, then your Grandfathered in & don't need to take a test.

My youngest son was probably around 10 when he started the pulling with his mother in the boat with him. By age 12 I had no problems letting him go alone with me on the end of the rope. He was one of the first of the group in TN to get the operating certificate for boating when it was implemented. I think he was 12 the year the state implemented the rule about 9 years ago.

my son just turned 15 and was put in the rotation of drivers last year. not only in our boat but ski buddies wakesetter as well. If I was skiing blind folded, I could not tell the difference between him and a person that has driving for 20 years.
