At the 5 hour mark Bill is at 2,577 consequetive flips...UNBELIEVABLE!!! Here's a few details about this feat...
First, Bill is 41. So far he has gone 126 miles, which is 44 laps around Canyon Lake. He is riding a 2002 Sky Ski LEX which is the fork top, 34" bar.
Oh, and he is still going.......

    5 hours, 43 minutes and he has now doubled Geno's record of 1,416;
2,832!! Bill is doing wake back roll, then switch wake back roll.
This is keeping him from getting dizzy, and its keeping the rope from
    getting twisted up.
A little more background on Bill, though he has only been foiling for
about the last 8 years, he has been on the water for much longer. He
can consistently run 35" off on the slalom course, and he is a
national champion in barefooting. By the time I hung up the phone on
this update he was doing #2,870....

Ok, he's had enough....he let go of the rope at 3,058 consequetive flips. It took him 6 hours, 26 minutes. He rode 56 laps around Canyon Lake for 126 miles. He says he's not tired, but his back & kidneys hurt....

    Way to go Bill VonZabern!!

Look for Anton to post some video in the next day or so....

Congratulations Bill Von Zabern ... The Iron Man of Hydrofoiling

Just got off the boat with Bill. That was truly an amazing feat of skill, endurance, and drive.

    Final counts are

3058 Flips and then he let go (had to pee really bad)
    160 miles
    6 hours and 20 minutes

We have complete stats, but here are some memorable moments

    1 lap = Approx 3 miles
Most flips per lap = 83
Average flips per lap = 55

    1 Hour = 711 flips
    2 hours = 1206 flips
    3 hours = 1691 flips
    4 hours = 2134 flips
    5 hours = 2577 flips
    6 hours = 2929 flips

In the time Geno did 1416 (4 1/2 hours) Bill just did 2349 flips

He took a total of 4 breaks (each rest period was for 1/2 lap) which is approximately 4 minutes long. Not a lot of rest for the hardest working man in hydrofoiling.

I will have pics and video posted by tomorrow.
