So I tired the dismount gainer again the other day and almost hit it... I'm riding a stock Sky Ski Pro SS so I have to generate some speed. After watching all the videos 1000 times I think I camped out a little too long and didn't throw the trick early enough and I definitely needed to start higher so I had a bigger dip. This one hurt a little as my feet got ripped out and the back of the ski slammed into my lower back..

What thinks you experts? Suggestions for the next try?

Your ski need more lift. This will help with a smoother cut out into the flats - and should help pop the ski better.

As far as the invert... you hucked it. Jump first, then flip. Your back should never go 'behind' the tbar - it should stay 'inline' or ahead of the tbar (unless you're laying it out - but that's for later). Rule of thumb is that your back should stay inline with the tbar (or forward) until the wings leave the water.

    Hope this helps...

I have a shim kit. You think it's time to start shimming it? With my ski and it's shorter T bar and wings what boat speed do you think would be ideal?

That was a scorpion, yes those can hurt. Board entering the water vertical stops the ski, but you keep rotating.

If your feed are coming out, you must have old style rubber straps. Get some new foot straps from either Lonnie at Cinchmax or Malibu Mark. Either will prevent your feet from coming out.

Boat speed 18-20 mph to start inverts. You can generate enough speed cutting out to complete rotation. Try that speed and just jump out wide, don't attempt to invert at first. Get used to just jumping at that speed. As SaskFreak said, jump, pause, then rotate. Make sure your wing exit the water before rotation.

I have Cinch foot straps but they probably just weren't tight enough..I will try just jumping out there in the flats for a while..Thanks
